On Monday, President Donald Trump announced that the adult children of former President Joe Biden will no longer have U.S. Secret Service protection.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that Hunter Biden had been under Secret Service protection for an "extended period of time."
"There are as many as 18 people on this Detail, which is ridiculous!" Trump wrote. "Please be advised that, effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection."
Ashley Biden, Hunter's sister, will also have her Secret Service protection removed. Trump mentioned that 13 agents were assigned to her security detail.
"We are aware of the President’s decision to terminate protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden," the Secret Service told Fox News Digital. "The Secret Service will comply and is actively working with the protective details and the White House to ensure compliance as soon as possible."
Fox News Digital has contacted Hunter Biden's lawyers.

Under federal law, former presidents and their spouses are entitled to lifelong Secret Service protection. However, the protection for their immediate family members over the age of 16 ceases when they leave office. Despite this, both Trump and Biden extended their children's protection for an additional six months after leaving office, as reported by the Associated Press.
Former President Biden allowed Baron Trump to retain his Secret Service protection beyond his 16th birthday.
In his statement, Trump mentioned that Biden was vacationing in South Africa, a country facing significant pressure from the administration due to its land exploration law permitting government land seizures without compensation, and its support for the Palestinian group Hamas and Iran.
Trump claimed that these seizures are discriminatory against White landowners.
"As a result, South Africa has been removed from our list of countries receiving Economic and Financial Assistance," Trump wrote.
